Dont Drive If..

My rant for the day.
On my way through Columbus today I noticed how many terrible, and I cant stress the terrible part enough, drivers there were on the road. So here are some rules that people should go by before they decide to get behind a vehicle, because one wrong move on the road can really change everything. And yes I know I use to be the WORST driver ever, but I have a Baby On Board now. Having Reisse in the car with me changes every aspect of the road for me; I double check, then triple check before I switch lanes, I come to complete stops, I check LEFT,RIGHT,LEFT,RIGHT before crossing a street.. So please before you drive think to yourself "I am going to be cautious".. Because I promise if you cross my path not being anything except cautious, you will wish you hadn't.
Some rules for the road..

Tip 1: USE YOUR BLINKER PEOPLE..it is there for a reason so use it!
Tip 2: Stops sign are NOT yield signs. They are STOP signs, that means you stop.
Tip 3: When there is oncoming merging traffic, you are suppose to get in the other lane to let them on

Tip 4: An, already been yellow for 500 feet, yellow light does not, DOES NOT, mean to speed up.

Tip 5: Brake checks on the interstate.. not funny.

Tip 6: Your not as fast as you think you are, so when your pulling into oncoming traffic and decide to
           cut people off, be prepared to hear a parade of horns and lots of birds flying.

"Dadda!"

Reisse said his first word today! Dadda!

It was completely out of the blue.. He was sitting in his highchair eating his green beans and playing with a toy, his Daddy walked by him and he said "Dadada".. literally you could have heard a pin drop because everyone's mouth was on the floor! This little man will definitely keep us on our toes!! I was so excited because we have been repeating words to him for weeks; Momma, Dadda, Milk. Its amazing watching your own child learn new things and explore their boundaries! Now we are definitely going to be working on Momma!!

Reisse had a banana for snack today, and he decided to squish it with a spatula and measuring cup!

Our New Home!

 

 

After a long year at our first home together, my husband and I decided it was time for a change! As grateful as we were to have a great first house, not many couples get that blessing, we were ready for something new! We moved from the MacDonald Villages of Benning, if you have ever seen them, then you know they are what you would consider "historic". At least that is what the Villages of Benning committee described them as, therefore they were never remodeled. So after a few flooded basements, the awful Water Bugs, the leaky sink, and the mold growing in the bathroom ceiling; when we got the opportunity to move from a 2 bedroom 1 bath house to a 2 story 4 bedroom 2.5 bath closer to work we JUMPED at the chance! And I am so glad we did, because I fell absolutely in love with it! Don't get me wrong though, when we took the last boxes and pulled out of the driveway on route to our new home I cried like a baby. It was our first home together as a family, It was both of our first home without our parents, and it was Reisse's first home as a baby. I will take with me memories of dancing through the kitchen while I'm singing Shania Twain and cooking dinner, of me and Chris spending an entire weekend never leaving the couch except to refill our cookies & chocolate milk, where I was sitting on the couch when I got the call from my doctor to let us know that we were expecting our first baby, and of sitting on the front porch with the boys enjoying morning coffee and the awesome peacefulness of the neighborhood. But sometimes changes is good so without second guessing we both jumped feet first into the move into a home that we both loved! I can honestly say from my experience, I will never in a million years take a ceiling fan for granted! The new house is a true blessing because now that Reisse is crawling I feel much better about it being on new floors and bug free!!! After the first week of being in the new house Chris came home from work and said to me that he felt that this was a house he would call home; after that conversation with my husband I knew that we had made the best decision for our family! This is a picture (above) of our new house! We finally got the porch all set up! I love all the bright summertime colors!
